What Is External Refurbishment?

External refurbishment covers the repair, restoration and protection of a building's external envelope — everything from the roof line down to the ground floor. For residential blocks and managed buildings, this typically encompasses facade repairs, render replacement, masonry repointing, concrete repairs, balcony refurbishment, external decorations and protective coating systems.

Many external refurbishment programmes on residential blocks are significant capital works procured under Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985. Facade and Render

  3. 3Pre-Construction — Access strategy, scaffold design, resident notification, programme and phasing are agreed before works start on site.
  4. 4Delivery — Experienced site teams carry out all works safely and professionally, with regular updates to the contract administrator throughout.
  5. 5Handover — Works are snagged, inspected and signed off. Full documentation, warranties and maintenance guidance are provided on completion.
